Do you understand what your social media goal is or are you just posting, hoping it helps in some way?
Having a clear strategy and goal for your social media is essential if you want to move forward in your business. In other words, if you haven’t planned it out or don’t have a strategy, you are wasting time and potentially money. Above all, you will see limited results and wonder why it’s not happening for you.⠀⠀⠀⠀

Start Making Your Action Count.
Firstly, think about why you are using social media. For instance, here are a couple of reasons that may apply to you.⠀
– Generate new leads.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Increase visibility.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Drive website traffic.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
– Improve the know, like, trust factor.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So why do you use social media?
“A clear social media goal and a message that resonates with your ideal client, along with an actionable strategy, will increase your visibility.” Mary Cushen
Generate New Leads.
If used correctly, you can generate new leads from social media. To clarify, it’s all about being clear on your message, giving value and having a clear call-to-action (CTA). If you are providing consistent value, giving a clear message that resonates with your ideal client and have a relevant CTA, you build trust, increase your visibility and generate new leads.
Increase Visibility.
Social media is great for increasing your visibility. However, you do need a clear plan of action. Should your goal to use social media is to increase your visibility, make sure you have a plan in place and that you follow it!
To increase your visibility on social media, you need to show up consistency. Above all, you need to deliver value not sell consistently. Getting visible is not an overnight thing. It takes time, consistency and a clear message to get noticed. And you have to keep it up. Having a clear marketing strategy is a must.
Drive Website Traffic.
If your website is the most important part of your marketing strategy, you should therefore use social media to promote it. For example, add value posts that link back to your website. Take quotes from your blogs and link them back. Most importantly, remember, it’s all about adding value to your ideal clients, not selling to them.
When you link back to your website, make sure it’s to a relevant page. There needs to be an obviously link between the value you are adding on the post and the page they are taken to on your website. If there isn’t, they will leave the website without taking any action.
Increase the Know, Like, Trust Factor.
Social media is perfect for the know, like, trust factor. Being visible, staying consistent, adding value, all help. Firstly, it takes at least twenty touch points before someone notices you and it’s increasing. As a result of being on one or two key social media sites, delivering consistent value, it gives people the opportunity to get to know you, what you are about and see you as an expert in your field.
Need some help with your marketing strategy?
I’ve been there. Likewise, I know what it’s like to spend hours on creating content for social media and get nothing in return. Creating a marketing strategy changed everything for me. However, I had to action it as well. It gave me focus, allowed me to plan ahead and get clear on my message. It also improved my mindset and how I thought about social media.
